Welcome to Capitolers

Capitolers is a group of people who share the same interest and love of art, in any form and are committed to promoting the interest and the education of art and decorative painting.

Capitolers is a chapter of the Society od Decorative Painters located in Loudonville, NY. We are a not-for-profit organization. We currently have about 150 members from all over the state of NY and surrounding states.

What are we about?

Because of the number of talented people in our organization we are able to help fulfill a variety of needs in the local communities.

At several of our meetings throughout the year our local teachers provide painting instructions in a wide array of mediums for all levels of painters. Capitolers also host many seminars in which we invite teachers from all over North America to come and provide painting instructions.

Capitolers has helped to provide community services in our area such as ornaments for the Ronald McDonald House and ornaments for the Pryun House. We have painted ornaments and drums for the White House which were used to help decorate the Blue Room. We have painted murals on walls for schools and we also provide hand painted boxes to families at St. Peter's Hospital through our Memory Box Program.

Several members of Capitolers painted and helped to sew a quilt for the Cancer Society to auction off as a means of fundraising and we have painted hats and donated them to the Gilda's Club.
